four suburbs, known properly.

We only sell in Melville, Parkhurst, Linden and Emmarentia, the older suburbs between the Melville Koppies and the Braamfontein Spruit. These guides cover what each one is like to live in.

Johannesburg's northern suburbs from above, roofs hidden among thousands of trees

melville

Small houses, big trees and 7th Street at the end of the road.

Melville is the suburb people move to for the street life and stay in for the koppies. The houses are mostly modest and close together, which is exactly why the neighbourhood feels like one.

Freehold cottages usually from about R1.5 million, larger family homes from about R2.5 million.

parkhurst

A grid of renovated homes a short walk from 4th Avenue.

Parkhurst is a walkable grid of family homes, most of them renovated at least once, with 4th Avenue's restaurants and shops at its centre. Buyers come for the village feel and the schools nearby.

Family homes usually from about R3.5 million, with renovated four bedroom homes often above R4.5 million.

linden

Big stands, wide avenues and room for a cottage at the back.

Linden is about space. The stands are larger than in most older suburbs nearby, so you find houses with long gardens, a second dwelling, or room to add one.

Family homes usually from about R2.4 million, with houses that include a cottage often above R3 million.

emmarentia

Family homes between the dam and the botanical garden.

Emmarentia is green in a literal sense. The Emmarentia Dam and the Johannesburg Botanical Garden sit inside the suburb, and the houses around them are some of the most sought after family homes on this side of town.

Family homes usually from about R3.8 million, with large homes near the dam often above R6 million.
