privacy notice.

How we handle your personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

This is a concept website. The forms on it work in your browser only: nothing you type is sent to us or stored anywhere.

Who we are

Stoep Property Co. (Pty) Ltd is the responsible party for personal information collected through this website and in the course of our business as an estate agency. Our information officer is the principal, Nomvula Dlamini, at hello@stoepproperty.co.za.

What we collect

  • Your name, phone number and email address when you ask for a valuation, book a viewing or contact us.
  • Details of a property you want to sell, and your preferences if you are buying.
  • Identity and financial information needed by law when you sign a mandate or an offer, including the checks required by the Financial Intelligence Centre Act.

Why we use it

To answer your enquiry, arrange viewings and valuations, market and sell property under a signed mandate, and meet our legal duties as property practitioners. We do not sell your information, and we only send you property news if you ask for it.

Who we share it with

Only with the people needed to complete a transaction, such as the transferring attorneys, bond originators and the other party to a sale, and with regulators where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

The Property Practitioners Act requires us to keep transaction records, mandates and disclosure forms for five years. Enquiries that do not lead to a transaction are deleted after twelve months.

Your rights

You may ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to its use for marketing. Email hello@stoepproperty.co.za. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Information Regulator at inforeg.org.za.
